WELL, we are back tracking where we have been. Because the Trent Severn Waterway, in Canada is closed we have gone back on the Oswego to the Erie Canal and now heading for Buffalo NY. We will take the Lake Erie and Lake Huron route to get to Lake Michigan. We have two more days on our permint for Lake Erie. I plan to get an additonal two day pass ant hopefully be in Lake Erie by Tuesday or Wednesday, depending on the weather. Today we ran eleven hours . We may not travel Sunday. It depends on the weather. We are in Fairport NY, which is a big Erie Canal water community. There are many shops, restaurants, etc. We need grocery stores and showers. Hopefully Sunday we will find both.

This is where the Erie Canal joins with the Seneca River. Approximately 8 years ago the entire Barwick Clan rented a Canal Barge from Lake Seneca and traveled the Erie Canal for a week. I'm now traveling over the same parts I visited 8 years ago. It's interesting that I see things I remember from the first trip.

Just another shot of the Erie Canal

I'm enjoying the NY water way BUT I'm also getting ready for something different than canals and locks. We have another hundred and four miles of Erie Canal before we enter Lake Erie. The intersting thing is we do not have a chart of where we are now or where we are going. I have to find charts somewhere before we enter Lake Erie.
Well, we just finished a big pizza, which was delicious, and a local ice cream shop forced me to make a visit. At 65 yrs old I've not learned to not over eat. Life is just great.........
Carl, do you want to pull charts from NOAA for you and email like the last group?
